Seti Ganga Environment Improvement committee organized a one day workshop on Jan 22, 07' with the theme gHousehold waste management and compost trainingh for the students of Mahendra Higher Secondary School and Navaprabhat Secondary School of Nayabazaar ward no. 9. Altogether 30 students from each school took part in the day long workshop. For the first time, the Project conducted a workshop for the students. On the workshop, student raised many questions regarding the segregation of waste and making of fertilizers. During the workshop, students were informed that with this method almost 65 percent of waste can be turned into compost fertilizer, around 30 into non-organic waste (for recycle use and re selling) and only 5 percent of the waste will be sent to the landfill site giving rise to the longevity of the landfill site. Also, during the program, Office head of Pokhara Swakcha Pvt. Ltd Mr. Tika Ram Bhandari also distributed leaflets describing the detail list of item that they purchase locally.
The program was organized under the chairmanship of Mr. Jogendra Bataju and the Project Manager Mr. Sharda Mohan Kafle as the chief guest. During the program everyone stressed the need to share the learning and implement them in their daily life so as to make their city clean.
